There are numerous accessories that you will need when working on just about any project. Depending on what you are undertaking, there are a couple that are basic necessities.
Here are a few things you will need to get together before starting:
- Needles (for your machine and hand needles)
- Pins and a cushion
- 2 Spools of thread (one to sew with and one for a bobbin in corresponding or the same color)
- Scissors
- Pattern (for beginners that need the extra help)
- Material
- Measuring Tape
- Seam tape (beginners will love this)
- Zippers
- Buttons
- Seam ripper
These are only a few of the things you will need, but with these basic items you are able to complete just about any project you take on within reason. There are differing opinions as to what is a necessity and what is a luxury, but in my many years of sewing I have found that having all of these on hand will keep you from having to stop in the middle of a project to get a supply.
The articles included herein will give information on each of these and many other supplies and accessories that you may need or run across. You will get a full understanding of what types of each there are available as well as how to use them and projects each may be used on. It may sound silly, but just because you can see a zipper on a pair of pants doesn’t mean you will really figure out how to put one in without help the first time.
